I’m honestly blown away by how the latest ChatGPT and Gemini models are turning data scientists into mobile app developers overnight.
Years ago, I built an R-based app that analyzes speech patterns from over 2,000 TED Talks to help people improve their public speaking, you can find more in here about this. Using a mix of Codex and Gemini, I fed those original scripts directly into Android Studio.
The results?
- 10 minutes for Codex to port the logic and generate the files.
- 30 minutes to troubleshoot and hit “Build” in Android Studio.
